Rescue: the program took control of the only recording of the judgment that there is in the country, that is in a deplorable state.
"By the pressure of the Armed Forces, the judgment could not be emitted by television", explains the voice in off of Magdalena Ruiz Guiñazú, almost in the beginning of the documentary one who will see itself tomorrow. And it seems unusual live in these times of hidden cameras, and emitted judgments, in channels twenty-four hours. But of those 17 weeks of 1985, as soon as some few images were seen, without audio.
Even today, the sentence that read Leon Arslanian does not have its audio original one, but that is mixed with the sound that was emitted by radio, live, in that time.
The only televising registry that was was the one that recorded the two ready fixed cameras in the room. Are 530 hours recorded that as soon as they could recompose, with Eastern patience, the journalist Walter Goobar and the publisher Silvia Di Florio.
According to the three ex- judges remember who saw the video in the house of Ruiz Guiñazú, those two cameras were left without operators most of the time and, in agreement with which the four people in charge of this video count, not very often they focused the public, or to the defendant, to see the reactions, except at two moments: when Videla enters the room and defies the public, and when Strassera reads the final plea. This is the first time that the judgment to it military juntas will be seen in the audio television with the original one, but already was a previous attempt. During the government of Raul Alfonsi'n Carlos Somigliana was in charge to him to the dramatist the compaginación of a series of thematic chapters on the judgment. But the program never arrived at the air. Until now, the only copy that exists in the country slept in the Federal Camera, in a deplorable state, according to Goobar and Di Florio, that they even had to disarm several of the videos and to stick tapes soon to be able to recompose part of the material. The same is definitively lost.
The other copy is in Norway. It arrived there by own initiative of the judges who composed the Federal Camera that condemned the Military junta. In living of the house of Magdalena Ruiz Guiñazú, still moved by the images of the documentary one, Leon Arslanian, present Minister of Justice and Security of the province of Buenos Aires, it told that it and the other members of that Camera, next to their women, were in charge to take to ten copies each one to Norway to leave registry of this judgment. Today, that second copy rests next to the Constitution of that country, in a file able to resist a nuclear attack. To the defense of the step, of the time and the forgetfulness.
